Dr. John Black
strives to provide optimum treatment for all of his patients and he feels
that Principle-Centered, Comprehensive-Care Dentistry is the way to achieve
this. He wants your dental treatment to be a comfortable experience. Dr.
Black is respected by his patients and his peers. He establishes a caring
relationship with his patients and truly enjoys creating beautiful, healthy
smiles. Dentistry provides Dr. Black the
opportunity to perform a service for his community through an occupation he
truly enjoys.

Education and
Professional Activities

Dr. Black completed
his undergraduate education at the Oxford campus of the University of
Mississippi in 1980 and his dental education at the University of
Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1984, finishing in the top of his class.
Upon graduation he opened his practice in Pontotoc, where he has served his
community since September of 1984. Dr Black served in the United States
Naval Reserve Dental Corps, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He
is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental
Association, the Tupelo Dental Society, and the Academy of General
Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry. Dr. Black has always been dedicated to continuing education in
dentistry as is his staff. In order to provide you with the latest in
techniques and technologies, they continue to study under some of the
leaders in dentistry. Dr. Black is currently working toward Fellowship in
the Academy of General Dentistry.
Community and Civic Activities

Dr. Black has been
active in many aspects of his community and church. He has served as a
Sunday school teacher and the adult men's group leader. He and his family
are active members of The Orchard - United Methodist Church. Dr. Black has
served in various capacities of the local Boy Scouts Of America troop,
including Scoutmaster. He completed the adult BSA leadership course,
Woodbadge, in 1998.
Dr. Black enjoys outdoor activities such as running, hiking, bicycling, and
backpacking. |
